Sihing Ellis Beam's Testomonial of his experience:
"We arrived in San Francisco late Saturday night after two days of driving over 1600 miles. On Sunday we stopped by the Academy to visit and find out our schedule for the week. I wasn't expecting to meet Master Wong until Monday. However, Master Wong, along with some of the instructors, and Sifu David Law were there and they gave us a very warm welcome. After a tour of the Academy, my students and I got to hang out with Master Wong and have lunch. It was a great surprise to hang out with such a renowned Kung Fu Master. After years of watching the students from the Academy on You-tube, the feeling of actually being there was surreal. It took a while to set in.
Throughout the week my students and I participated in many classes. We met so many TWKFA students and instructors. All of them were very friendly. One student in particular was Joseph Lee. He took my kids and students out for pizza and ice cream on several occasions, treated us like family, helped my sons and students, and was a great mentor to them. Shareena and Arlene were very friendly and informative as well. They [my students] will remember this San Francisco Kung Fu experience for the rest of their lives. I myself felt like I had been training in San Francisco all along. I never felt like a visitor. Thanks to all of you.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, in walks Si Tai Gong Poon Sing. The rare chance of a life time to meet this legendary Kung Fu Master from Hong Kong with such experience and roots so close to the founder of Choy Lay Fut. Later on we met the Brazil and Chile teams with Sifu Francisco and Sifu Carlos. Those guys and their students are very talented. Their kung fu skills are amazing. Very fast. They are such friendly people too. I also met Sihing Paul Mowrey from the Ohio association school, another very interesting person. Everyone who is involved with Master Wong's Kung Fu Academy is so skilled, friendly and they really uphold the moral values of Kindness and Humility.
The tournament was the best I've experienced. My team and I have competed in many Tournaments (both Karate and Kung Fu), but Master Wong's tournament was the most efficient and fair tournament of all. The Masters Demonstration was awesome. Seeing Si Tai Gong Poon Sing perform along with Master Wong and the Academy's demo team. Also, Masters Gini Lau, Carrie Wong and many more. It was a great show."
Coming Home:
After getting back I spoke with one of my student's mother, Susan Hinkle about her son Clay's experience. This is what she said: 'Clay is a completely different person. He has matured a lot. Before the trip he wouldn't practice much at home. Now he practices all day and night. I have to force him to come inside around 10:00pm. He used to say he was going to be a professional skate boarder. Now he says he wants to be a Kung Fu Master.' My students and I can't wait to return for another great experience with Master Wong, Sifu Jeff Chow, Sifu David Law, and so many others.
Many Thanks,

My (Ellis Beam's) student - Clay Hinkle's Testimony
"My trip to California was great! It was a long trip but worth it. At the academy eveyone had great attitudes and were really nice. I had a great time getting to know Master Wong. Master Wong is a funny guy and real nice! Master Wong even took us to lunch and we all had a good time together. I also met Joe who is a student of Master Wongs....he bought us a smoothie which was a real treat from him.
The training was good and fun! I especially liked the sparring. This trip to Master Wong's Kung Fu Academy made me want to work harder at my Kung Fu at home and at Kung Fu class. It changed who I am and I am glad. I miss being there....the tournament was a blast and nobody loses. It's all for fun! The Masters Exhibition was amazing and full of great Kung Fu Masters.I also got to watch my Sifu receive his special 'Choy Lay Fut Black Belt' from GrandMaster Tat-Mau Wong there which meant a lot to me. I hope to return to the San Francisco Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy in the future."
